WAITLIST

The majority of ECDC’s enrollment happens in the May-August timeframe for spaces that will open at the end of the current school year (June) or the beginning of the new school year (late August or early September).

During the school year, some enrollment spaces become available due to children leaving the program. Those spaces are filled with appropriately aged children.

Priority for Federal Government Employees

Priority for available childcare services must be given to Federal Government employees in order for a federal agency to make space and services available to a childcare center.  ECDC agrees that the children of NIH employees (defined for purposes of the USE Agreement as NIH federal employees and fellows) will have priority for available childcare services. From time to time, as

monitored by the NIH PO, children of other Federal Agency employees and children of community-based parents (NIH affiliation and non-affiliation) may be given access to NIH-sponsored childcare centers.

In these situations, the following order of priority will be maintained:

Federal Employees

Fellows

Other Federal Employees (non-NIH Feds)

NIH Contractors (NIH-Affiliated community-based members)

Community-based members (non-NIH affiliation)

Offering available spaces in the NIH Center only to children whose names appear on the current NIH Waiting List and in the order in which they appear.  Any exception to this policy, including transfers of already enrolled children between ECDC @ Off Campus and ECDC @ NWCCC, will require an enrollment waiver approval by the NIH PO.  This “Administrative Transfer Policy” established by the NIH PO will be reviewed annually.

Parents/guardians should refer to the NIH child care website for complete information regarding the waiting list at
